The Caslen Way

Caslen Living Centers is a privately owned company based in Billings, Montana, dedicated to providing thoughtful, high-quality care for seniors across the state. With assisted living homes in six communities and an independent living facility, we are proud to serve a growing need with a personal, community-focused approach.

Our History

Caslen Living Centers was founded in 2006 by cousins Michael White and Gayle Laufer, who shared a vision of creating comfortable, home-like environments for seniors.

Their journey began in 2007 with the acquisition of Meadowlark Manor in Whitehall, Montana. Growth continued in 2008 with New Horizons Assisted Living in Livingston, followed by additional locations in Anaconda and Lewistown in 2011. While Anaconda continues to operate as New Horizons, the Livingston and Lewistown communities are part of the Caslen Living Centers family.

In 2012, Caslen expanded to Columbus through a lease of Meadowlark Assisted Living, previously operated by Stillwater County Hospital. The most recent addition came in 2016 with the purchase of Son Heaven Assisted Living in Helena, bringing Caslen’s presence to six communities across Montana.

The Meaning Behind “Caslen”

The name “Caslen” reflects the family roots behind the company. When Mike and Gayle set out to name their business, they wanted something personal and meaningful. They combined the names of their grandparents, Casimer and Helen, creating a name that represents family, legacy, and care.

Our Mission

Our goal is to help seniors maintain their quality of life. We respect their right to privacy, dignity, and personal choice while providing care for their changing needs.
